The Istrians’ deep appreciation for a healthy lifestyle is evident in their daily lives, with food playing a significant role in their daily rituals. Mediterranean cuisine, based on fresh ingredients and simple recipes, is widespread throughout Istria. However, in the heart of Istria, you’ll encounter unique traditional dishes that have remained largely unchanged over the years – healthy and incredibly delicious. In the center of the Istrian peninsula, you can expect traditional, imaginative dishes filled with produce from local family farms and a variety of seasonal vegetables, offering authentic homemade food that will undoubtedly leave you wanting more. If the cuisine is any indication, Istrians, much like their dishes, can be described as healthy and uncomplicated!
